Excellent first book by a new author and an exciting new take on the litRPG. The family aspect is a nice new twist that adds to the overall story, of which there is a lot of depth and worldbuilding.

The author perfectly nails the family dynamic of the Nelsons and any father can relate to Dave and any mother to Emily/5(9). "The Exiles" is a book to make you grateful for the times we live in and for the transformation of governments and nations--particularly England and Australia--to the powerful but peaceful states they are today.
